Dr. Shay Harris-Pierre, LPC, CFT brings extensive expertise in family dynamics and financial therapy to guide families with shared wealth through the relational conflicts that naturally arise over time. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology, a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, and a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision. With over a decade of clinical experience, Dr. Shay has helped individuals and families strengthen their relationships and effectively navigate conflict. She specializes in facilitating challenging conversations that preserve relational bonds and uphold family values, addressing issues such as apathy, entitlement, and emotional estrangement.
In her private practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Dr. Shay provides financial therapy to high-achieving women of color, couples, and families, focusing on cross-class growth and the “Journey Up” into wealth. As a consultant, she helps families with shared wealth address complex relational dynamics that impact the “Journey Across” — the stewardship and transfer of wealth across generations.
Dr. Shay resides just outside Washington, D.C., with her husband and their six-year-old Maltipoo. When she’s not helping others improve their relationships, you’ll find her reading, running, or enjoying a game of tennis.
